dream dream dream, so original
Feb. 28th, 2005 11:06 amSo I obviously had the best dream last night, because though it was weird, it ended with Melisande from the Kushiel's books. You know the villain, the sadist, the one who can turn Phedre's knees to water. Mmmm mmmm, and she's just as good in my subconscious!
So in my dream my cousin's Gavin and Gary led me to this hill and we were standing on it, looking out at field after field of gorgeous, beautiful countryside. And the sky was running through all these shades of purple, pink, red and orange and it was so peaceful and serene and you could just feel your blood flowing quicker, and you itched to just get away from where we were [which I'm thinking was fighting or suppression of some sort] and run through these fields until you couldn't run anymore. So of course, this is a dream and you can do what you want, so we did. We ran and ran until we came to these massive billboard things, and I can't remember if we were tearing down the posters or what. If we were destroying them because of what the depicted, or taking them to keep, but my other cousins Jo and Ryan were there too and suddenly we felt a lot more enclosed, and the fields weren't so large and all these soldiers were after all. And two sides of us were surrounded by billboards, and it was like the other sides had had walls built up. Of... Pillows. I kid you not.
After that I remember being in a car with two people. I was in the passenger seat, there was a guy who I knew but don't remember now in the driver's seat, and there was a girl in the back, though I never turned to look at her. I just knew she was there. I was asking all these stupid questions about driving, and how to do this that and the other, and how the gearstick worked. And we were driving over the bridge where Northolt station is, near where I used to live, and down to the traffic lights. And then we were in Harrow, which is like a twenty minute drive away so that was quick, and driving to this carpark my nan and grandad used to use that no normal people really did, which was made of like solid concrete and there were shapes cut into it, into the walls, to let light in. Like lots of little tiny diaminds side by side, or whatever shape they were. Something similar.
So then I'm inside, and it's a boy's prison type place. And I mean prison, and I mean boys, because the two boys I saw being escorted down the hall out of cells were like... Around 7-9 years old. Then I was in the art room, [two of the walls reminding me faintly of the billboards from before] and mixing paint and wandering round and stuff, I think I knew I was going to be an art teacher there of some sort, or this was the storage room kind of place that used to be a classroom, and I was mixing the paint to take it in to the class. And there was someone else there, a woman, watching me, but then Melisande was there, and we got into an argument. Then we had this really angry, kind of sloppy actually, kiss, and then I woke up.
So all in all, weird, butreally good.
And my dad thinks it's okay to throw open my bedroom door at 10.30am and start hoovering even though I'm still apparently asleep.
And now to finish with the usual; I'm going to go try and write something now! Or in a while when I actually wake up.
