Oh my, I sense a darker turn coming to this series, and I had already thought this series had plenty of that to its name, so it's a mini revelation to realise how wrong I was!
...And no bad thing, either. I'm rather looking forward to it XD
(Did you notice how I didn't post screencaps of Jung Il-Woo for either of these episodes? What restraint! XD)

- The Return of Iljimae, Episode 15: So Hweng-Bo fancies himself as Iljimae XD This might just work out well!
OH THAT'S-. Oh okay, okay, don't blame it on Iljimae, good. It is because the two of you are at odds. I'm glad Iljimae knows the truth.
Hweng-Bo is going to give Iljimae a bad name with all this stupidity XD He's not even trying to hide his own personality quirks!
Oh it's all so heartbreaking. Gu knows Iljimae's mother pretty well by now, and all these hints that the food has great symbolism, a connection to his mother, sustinance from her.
(So prettyyyyyyy.)
Oh dear. That's destroyed all of Gu's dreams now. They'll never live together as a family. And Iljimae has to worry now about having crimes attributed to him that he never even committed! And only Gu knows.
Sometimes it's very annoying how little Iljimae talks XD It's like "EXPLAIN THINGS TO THEM ALREADY." But he really only says what is needed.
IT'S DANGEROUS WHEN HE IS SMILING AND CHARMING. SO DANGEROUS <333
YES, I KNEW IT. SHE WENT BACK TO THE GISAENG HOUSE/INN TO SERVE.
Oh this is all so bad and naughty and omg I hope if Baek-Mae finds out who he is she realises Iljimae is putting on a big show for the gisaeng house madame! AWKWARDNESS.
At the moment she's thinking, "MEN, ALL EXACTLY THE SAME".
Ooooer, we have regaled gisaeng Chun-Wol to seduce Iljimae XD I have a feeling this episode is going to be so much fun to watch. And yet a little uncomfortable :x
I can just READ Chun-Wol's thoughts right now! I'm sure it's not all that usual to have a man who is going to be a big spender who is also drop dead gorgeous. It's like jackpot on all levels! ;D Lucky!
LOL SHE IS SO EASY. (But then he IS Iljimae, I'd be the same :x). Totally got her drunk on purpose so she'd pass out more easily.
So mean XD "What did you say your name was?"
He's always been able to grab a girl with ease, even if he didn't want to XD Apparently he got her so drunk she doesn't even remember not sleeping with him ;) LOL at least she has spunk!
(Although this is silly, I know we're to understand he's a charmer and heartbreaker, but she knew him for all of an evening! And she must be used to being discarded in this job! Hehe, there's a gisaeng to talk sense into her.)
Interesting! Does he know who she is now, have we missed a little bit for the sake of storytelling? (Which is the kind I can appreciate!) Why else would he feel the need to explain himself to her? He must - why else would he suddenly decide to stay at that inn and leave Wol-Hee and Geol-Chi who are safer in the countryside to do so? I hope all their scenes together are so poignant.
Ah, or else he's there to find out who stole his identity by attracting thieves. Dammit! XD
Baek-Mae is so desperate, any mention of Iljimae's name strikes her.
...They pretty much left Wol-Hee's house alone? Very big of the police. I'm surprised they didn't trash it more 'looking for Iljimae' or proof of him being there.
Heh, the plum blossoms.
Seon-Dal will figure it all out? XD And considering all the gang thieves know it wasn't actually Iljimae, I'm surprised that hasn't gotten out faster! People like to gossip so much after all.
So many people converging on Iljimae! Bi-Su has been in the background for quite a few episodes but it looks like now he is preparing a force to attack. And Yang-Po must be lingering somewhere.
LOL placated with gifts! Often Iljimae's silence means he tells lies of omission to Wol-Hee. He didn't go back to the house specifically for the lute, but for the gold plum blossoms. But Wol-Hee sees it as a risk he took for her happiness.
ALL THE GISAENGS ARE BEING NOSY XD
He is really willing to show the full force of his devotion now. It'll be harder for her to resist I reckon, eventually! Also if his presence waiting for her ruins business the madame will surely kick her out? XD
Gu waiting for Baek-Mae, Su-Ryeon waiting for Gu waiting for Baek-Mae! Too many layers of love riddled angst! XD
She says everything that makes it difficult to be a woman, especially in that sort of profession. But I love that she admits she can see Gu is different to all the other men she's known <3 (One day perhaps she will be able to accept Iljimae is too?)
OH MY. That's about as close to a confession as she'll ever get I suspect! :O YOU GUYS DESERVE TO GET IT ON.
Oh they just about make me want to cry. Just holding her in his arms makes him so happy. AND SU-RYEON IS STILL OUTSIDE WAITING AND SHE KNOWS WHY HE IS STILL IN THERE. Oh honey, I'd comfort you <3
Lol, all the noblemen are pretending they weren't personally robbed by Iljimae, "but the fear of it potentially happening to us means we should act against him first!"
She is getting so carried away! He clearly needs to say something to her.
See, Wol-Hee is a proper woman. She can rough it if need be, she isn't fragile or naive!
Seeing the way Wol-Hee and Geol-Chi have to live here, away from everyone and everything... It's kind of sad, even if they're both okay with it. It reminds me of how Iljimae seems to be unable to stop ruining the lives of those he meets. Wol-Hee is still wanted for information on Iljimae, I presume. And Geol-Chi, associated with her, must stay out of sight. As a beggar I imagine he was always around people, must've enjoyed being in the hustle and bustle and now he isn't.
And now he's left them to go and do good again. She can't distinguish between that and being completely abandoned, can she? I think that's common though, with superhero figures, police and crime-fighters in general - this theme is covered a lot in TV, the partner left behind while the other puts the safety of the public in general first.
Hmmm, next episode seems interesting. We have the climax of the thieves attempting to steal from the King, and what looks like a break down of Iljimae and Wol-Hee's relationship, as well as hints of new foes (after all, Yang-Po hinted war was coming, which I suspect is from Qing).

- The Return of Iljimae, Episode 16: Keep telling Geol-Chi, but you haven't left her side! <3 And I think Wol-Hee is right, if she's so worried Iljimae will leave them then she should go after him. No point just waiting to see what happens.
Everyone is after you Iljimae :x HE IS SUCH AN OPEN SECRET IT'S HILARIOUS.
Baek-Mae went all the way home? :x (Sounds like the nursery rhyme XD)
NOT THAT SCENE AGAIN, IT'S STILL SO AHHHH!
...Iljimae you're so contradictory! If you don't care about the world why do you fight crime and corruption? :)
Awww this is so cute. Seun-Dal and Cha-Dol following in Iljimae's footsteps, as are Wol-Hee and Geol-Chi, all coming to the same inn. (I love how Geol-Chi keeps asking her "how do you expect to find Iljimae?" and yet they're both there, not just her XD)
LOL. OH YOU TWO <3 Discussing all the ways to make Iljimae pay for leaving them behind.
Important question: WHY DO THEIR HATS HAVE WHAT LOOKS LIKE HUGE COTTON WOOL BALLS ON THEM?!
It's funny how we've switched between so many people and so many scenes so quickly in the first fifteen minutes, and yet it's all flowing together well and avoiding any boring draggy bits.
...There surely is a lot more thieves than that, hiding elsewhere I hope or else they are not making the best use of all those guys they broke out of jail XD
LOL, he's not as naive as he once was, Hweng-Bo, that's why Iljimae is better than you.
Su-Ryeon, what do you really want?
Her attitude is so messed up! "Iljimae wouldn't have left at all if he meant to return." Uhmmm, no. She's is sad and desperate though, and travelling has been hard. Everyone else knew the way to go except for them.
...Jung Il-Woo is so good at these moments that have sparked a memory and bring tears to the corners of the eyes. (I can't wait for this kind of stuff to crop up in 49 Days, it'll be awful and great at the same time :x)
If that was all there was to Iljimae stopping the thieves it really kind of wasn't worth it. I think Officer Gu could've handled it on his own, especially after knowing in advance and setting up a fake procession.
GEOL-CHI WAS SO RIGHT. YOU'RE GOING TO FORGIVE HIM AND FALL INTO HIS ARMS. SO MUCH FOR SLAPPING HIM XD
When he raises his voice it makes such an impact because he so rarely does it :x
OH MY. (Although I think his looking away from her and coincidentally looking in the direction of the camera makes this harder to buy; for me it's like breaking the fourth wall even though he never acknowledges the camera.)
I know he is being too rough with her, but I think he's just been pushed too far finally. Which is obvious because his behaviour is so out of character. Trying to do good, trying to come to terms with what happened to Dal, trying to balance all of that with how he feels for Wol-Hee - does he love her as much as he did Dal, or even in the same way? And now she is really pushing him for answers he doesn't have. So the easiest reponse it so push her away (better than running away? :P It's the same thing in the end, Iljimae!)
...She actually did jump, and he wasn't quick enough to think to stop her :x She'd better not be dead, in fact she can't be because Iljimae would probably go catatonic at having caused another death. This time directly and not just as a small part of events.
Yang Po took her?
Another tearful moment. He's gonna kill me like this :x
OH SEON-DAL <3 YOU BIG CLUMSY ROLY-POLY.
OH HI CATATONIC ILJIMAE.
THERE'S TWO OF THEM. Show-offs.
Seon-Dal and Cal-Dol are trying to hold back their fangirl-like squeals as Iljimae takes on two men at once and looks awesomely cool while doing so XD AND SO DO I.
COULD YOU GUYS LOOK ANY MORE GUILTY? XD
I'm glad they know there's something wrong with him, they know him so well after all!
No seriously, everyone made the hugest deal over going to stop the thieves and it was really nothing. Iljimae is back to the house he was going to stay with Wol-Gee and Geol-Chi in (and where the hell is Geol-Chi?)
Oooooh it's so nice to see Baek-Mae smile with hope. She knows Iljimae is out there, he knows she exists too. There's much more chance that they'll be together one day now. She doesn't need to cry anymore.
(What happened to Bi-Su and his men who were going to ambush Iljimae on the way back? Or did they mean on the way back to the city? Because he isn't going there... yet?)
Ah, he is back. Iljimae can be a little self-centred. He didn't stop to look for Wol-Hee's body, he hasn't stopped to think about Geol-Chi. A murder has just happened, but he wouldn't have known that until getting back to the city.
Iljimae, seriously, your ability to track footprints and smell blood is disturbingly hot.
OH MY GOODNESS PREVIEWS, ILJIMAE IS GETTING SO ROUGH AND ANTI-WOMEN.
...And no bad thing, either. I'm rather looking forward to it XD
(Did you notice how I didn't post screencaps of Jung Il-Woo for either of these episodes? What restraint! XD)
