You know what never got big in the music fandom, that I think I've only ever seen one fic of using that premise? The Five Things That Never Happened fic.

It's hard to even find a proper definition out there of what that kind of fic is, though it does sound self-explanatory. Some say the five things ahve to be related, but that's more restricting than five very different things, perhaps all set in different universes. I think the trick is to not going too OTT though.

And even this definition makes me mmmm-and-ahh a bit.

The premise is thus: write five things, five events, five moments that never happened to a character but could have changed their life forever.

Because some things would just make a good one-shot tiny glimpse into a life unknown, I don't think you should have to write every moment that "could've changed someone's life". Wouldn't they all sound sort of the same if you just put the same scenario into each?

Eh anyway the reason I'm rambling is because I was thinking about this kind of fic this morning, and I think I'd like to write one.

So when I get home from work (at about hmmm quarter past two probably) I shall try and work out what five things, and WHO.

Is there anything anyone thinks might be interesting to try?

I'd really like to write some Lostprophets coz it feels like forever since I wrote anything that WASN'T that damned epic. And by "Lostpropehts" I mean Ian/Lee. Of course.

And I just thought. CSI fic migth be kind of cool for this idea actually. But I WANT IAN/LEE!

Good luck with that! It would be really interesting to write, simply becasue of all the possibilities that there could be.

IAN/LEE! IAN/LEE! IAN/LEE!
i am aware that i am like, the hermit of your friendlist who only comes out when ian/lee is mentioned, but erm, its healthy to have a slight obsession, surely...

y'know.
i want Ian/Lee, too.
I miss seeing other people write it. Instead of just... myself. [cry]

I'd give you some prompts, but I'm tired.

oh gosh, the love confessions. that did get kind of tiring. and predictable. and i know i'm just wading into someone else's comment reply, and i also know i'm in no position to judge because i don't ever write fic but MY GOD it used to be so grim.

sample fic:

lee and ian were onstage with the other four playing that song they did about the ninja dragon and lee noticed ian had a nice bum. backstage later, lee told ian he loved him, "OMG" said ian, "i love you too, but i'm going to have a sexuality crisis in 3 chapters time". "ok" said lee, "lets shag".

**BAD SEX ENSUES**

end.

or thats how i saw it anyway. not your writing obviously, and there was someone else called crysta, like, YEARS ago, who wrote a couple of good prophets ones, but most of the others were kind of poor.

PS i love all your ian/lee icons!

The love confessions do get rather... predictable and boring.

I always love your Ian/Lee stories. They fill me with glee.

I need to write some, too. It's been a while. And fuck, I need to finish writing chapter 6. damnles.
