I seriously love it when we think along the same lines. I take this as an indication that we're reading Konomi's canon right. XDDDD /shot
As for the latter bit about playing each other, I've put up with a couple of chapters of Shin Tenipuri to know that Konomi is exploring this there -- but the woe there is that I honestly think it's a load of crap so I find it hard to take what Konomi is writing there seriously? IDK. It might just be me.
I will admit that it was nice though to see Yagyuu trounce Niou (because between the two of them Niou has always struck me as having the upper hand initially and losing to Yagyuu would be the best way to push him to improve). I stopped reading after Yukimura beat Sanada (foregone conclusion) though, because the way Konomi's set it up, we won't see any of the one who lost games once they're beaten. =\
