HATES falling short ESPECIALLY since he knows he's good. Renji is a calmer (less temperamental) version of that. but renji is constantly striving for perfection as well akaya. i cnnot help but feel like there's so much said in that oav me: (because Renji can use data to forsee the outcome and knows when it's possible he should win and therefore a loss would be illogical as well as unacceptable XD) Noey: like how yukimura points out that damn, he didn't show up or when he sees akaya (YES) and then there are the doubles teams yukimura appreciates and values hard work like, working yourself to the bone and throwing everything into your passion its a huge signpost that calls to him <-- we are slipping into my headcanon now so if he grew up with that kind of mentality, and if his own familiar experience proved it as truth, i think he would incerely believe it and then to get sick. THAT WAY. to hear the doctors say "oh, he'll probably never play again" its the ultimate slap in the face me: That scene when Yukimura points out to Sanada that Akaya didn't show up again, I love it so much. Because they KNOW they've really crushed that kid and yet they are waiting for him on his own to come back XD They expect so much from him from the get-go.
