Post a single sentence or more from each WIP you have, or from as many WIPs as you want. Provide no context/explanations.

GOKUSEN

1. Her persistance is ridiculous; she follows him out of the room to demand he wait. Sawada isn't in a position right now to take a stand against her, doesn't now trust that she will actually do the smart thing and back down. Perhaps nobody has even told her of his reputation. Perhaps that means she is judging him based on nothing but her own experience. It's hard to recall if anyone before now has ever done that.

PRINCE OF TENNIS: Tezuka/Fuji

2. "Tezuka-kun," Fuji smiles as he sits down. "I can relax with you here. You're never inappropriate."

Tezuka chooses to ignore the dubious praise.

3. "If you can't remember yet I don't think it is wise that I tell you," Syuusuke smiles sadly. "We were friends, once."

"What were we at the time of my accident?"

"You always see to the heart of the matter," Syuusuke replies, lips tightening.

4. "Fuji-"

"Tezuka," Fuji says from behind the counter. He doesn't even have to turn around to recognise that voice; it sends a shiver down his spine. "It's been a while, hasn't it? How have you been? Would you like coffee? I could make you one." He is practically babbling and it is frightening. "You know, I don't even know if you like coffee."

"Fuji," Tezuka says again, ignoring every meaningless pleasantry. Fuji only does it because he doesn't mean it. "Look at me."

"No," Fuji replies. "I already know what I am going to see."

"Some truths are hard and painful," Tezuka says. "You still have to face them."

"Well, you always were better than me at a lot of things."

5. "Tezuka-kun," Fuji says before Tezuka is completely out of the door. When he looks back, Fuji is already reading his poem.

"Fuji-sensei?"

"Hmm," Fuji replies. "It's interesting."

"The poem?"

"It's very... correct," Fuji says and his nose crinkles when he smiles. "But even the very preciseness of your words is its own form of art."

Tezuka doesn't really understand. All he did was accurately describe very technically what a paper plane is with some random line breaks in order to suggest the structure of a poem. He doesn't consider himself at all creative.

"You seem displeased with today's lesson," Fuji says. Tezuka doesn't dare lie and deny it. "I believe in a relaxed teaching atmosphere. I find that starting out with something unexpected is beneficial to everyone - for you and your classmates as well as myself. It doesn't stay this easy."

Tezuka personally didn't find poetry writing easy at all but he knows that isn't what Fuji meant and keeps his opinion to himself.

"Hang in there, okay?" Fuji asks. Tezuka feels obligated to nod his agreement before he leaves.

6. "Acquaintance?" Tezuka comments. Fuji smiles.

"Friend?" He retorts. "I admit I was always hazy on the details. Nobody else could figure it out either. What do you think of us as?"

7. "So what is the country like?" Fuji asks, trying to make light conversation.

"I just called to check in on the apartment," Tezuka replies.

"Everything's great - I've only caused three nuisance fires and one flood so far," Fuji replies, and hangs up.

8. "Have you slept together often?" Yukimura asks. It is easier to ask Fuji, but he won't bother to keep it a secret from Tezuka that he is curious. Tezuka raises an eyebrow but doesn't look up until Fuji glances his way to silently ask what Tezuka is comfortable with him revealing. That in itself says plenty. Tezuka just looks back down at his work.

9. "You're not crazy." Tezuka says firmly, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose. Fuji looks around briefly, then holds a finger to his lips.

"Ssshh," he says, "that's our secret." Fuji lets the silence hold for a moment. "You know, you should've kept talking," he informs Tezuka. "So you were also Nationally ranked, huh? Maybe if I'd paid attention, I would remember your name."

"It's almost certain." Tezuka nods. "My reputation probably only exceeded Atobe's because I was so close-mouthed."

"Glad you got past that." Fuji smirks.

PRINCE OF TENNIS: Other

10. "Tezuka," Yukimura says, walking up to their table, "how nice to see you outside of work. Do introduce me to your friend."

Tezuka meets his eyes without a trace of annoyance, just a blank stare.

"I was led to believe you already know each other," he replies. Yukimura sighs and sits down uninvited but welcome nonetheless.

"You don't play games at all, do you Tezuka?" He says, and leans over to Fuji, lowering his voice just slightly. "Why did you tell him?"

11. When Sanada walks into the visiting room he immediately sees that his visitor is not Jackal. He knows exactly who it is, he just can't believe it. He is sat in his chair on the other side of the glass with his feet on the chair, knees practically propping up his chin. A far cry from the usual impeccable suit and tie combination, he wears trainers, shabby jeans, and a loose t-shirt with a jacket over it. The thing that makes Sanada's teeth grit is that Yukimura is wearing one of his own baseball caps to shade most of his face.

12. "He's only an employee because you're sleeping with his boss," Atobe snorts, and Yuuta feels like he might die on the spot.

"That might be how you got a chance," Fuji admits, putting a hand on Yuuta's arm which he jerks away from immediately, "but the reason you're still here is because you're good."

13. "Buchou has quit the tennis club!" Somebody yells, "and the vice-captain, and two other third years, and nobody will say why!"

"Ask Yukimura-kun," a voice says, and it's Muraoka-senpai, the final third year Yukimura played the day before. Luckily his words are quiet and spoken directly into Yukimura's ear where nobody else can overhear them. "I think most of them are scared to step onto a court anymore thanks to you."
