I swear to god one thing I took away from the anime was that Yamato probably wasn't all that talented at tennis, but appeared to be a good leader and that was why he was Seigaku's captain? (And why they never made it to Nationals coughcough). But not apparently everyone is not only good at tennis, they're the BEST EVEREVEROMGRAINBOWS.
/clings to Pre-Monarchy headcanon where people aren't perfect and they don't all have the most stupid "special maneuvers".
