vague positivity
Sep. 20th, 2007 12:43 pm- So, I was just looking at those new ipods amazon were tempting me with in their newsletter a while ago. I might buy one; even a 160GB is just about a week's wages, and the way I save every single penny I can spare a week's wages just this once ;) We'll see though, I do want to think about it. It's apparently particular about what videos it will play (though playing them at all will be a bonus as my original doesn't anyway!) and I still don't really know what happened to this one to bust it. Hm, I may go investigate online just for safety's sake.
- I'm seriously debating Yuletide this year. Don't get me wrong, it was great last year and at the end of the day I enjoyed every tense, worry filled, self-kicking my ass into discipline moment of it. At the end of it ;) By the time I'd forgotten even the name of my fic so I hadn't been able to go back and find it or reread it or anything. But this year I've just been getting more and more worn down, sleeping all the time, barely having ideas, let alone being able to write them. And I understand dry spells, but Yuletide is hard enough when you're scraping to find the minimum amount of fandoms you could confidently write in, I don't want to go in with good intentions and then beat myself up over it.
- Though, if I can get into a few more fandoms (read: jdramas) before the sign-ups end, we'll see.
- In a related note, I loved every geeky, quirky, testosterone-filled moment of Gokusen. Of course it helped a lot that Matsumoto Jun is gorgeous, but there you go, they PUT PRETTY PEOPLE ON TV ON PURPOSE ;) And I'd definitely be interested in fic for that (especially if it isn't Shin/Yankumi, because although I was rooting for it, it's all I've seen around so far and so I'm not particularly going to be lacking it).
- I still have lots of books to read :D This is a very good thing. Even though right now it would be nice to take a break from trilogies and big series(es?) of things and read a one-off.
Aren't I being vaguely positive today! I'm actually sitting here fidgeting because I can't figure out what to be doing, and I feel like I should be doing something. Which is crazy because the point of having a holiday from work is to do nothing, but now that I DO work, it seems like time out means time to do the creative things I want to do, not pure time off to do absolutely nothing.
But that's something I have to work on to get over myself ;)
Oh look, my download is done, now I have something new to watch!
