must find cartoons on dvd too, hopehope!
Feb. 16th, 2005 12:56 amGnuh, nothing like X-Men/X2 to make you feel better. I distinctly remember fangirling over X2 in my LJ the first time I saw it, and now I'm going to do it again, and go off on another rampage to find Bobby/John and Logan/Scott slash because DUH. The love! So strong! Ish.
I mean the Bobby/Rogue/John thing is just... John always shows off for himself, never really intentionally to impress Rogue. And while she's actively dating Bobby they can't even kiss because of her powers, and she's all crushing on Logan in her way too. I love when they're all four in the car together, and she only has eyes for Logan, and Bobby's sulking and John's complaining about the awkward silence... But yeah, Bobby and John can't even have a rivalry over Rogue, except for appearances sake, because you can't TOUCH her anyway! There's no physicality to the relationship. So yeah, that's their cover and the excuse for filtering out all this unexplainable tension they find between them. And even the way Bobby has the power to create ice and freeze things, and John manipulates fire. Opposites. John is tempted over the bad side, Bobby never would. I can't even begint o imagine how cool it would be for them to engage in sex, and if their powers would come into play, how they would balance one another, how they would mingle...
And Logan/Scott, sigh. another war over a woman, but this one is real and obvious, so you think "WTF so in love with Jean there's no room for anything else." But I'm talking film-verse here, where she 'dies' [but will be reborn as Phoenix coz I'm an X-Men the cartoon fanatic so I know the story so HA] and Scott is so overcome with emotion, and refusal to believe she's really gone. The way he and Logan would connect on some level through the mutual loss, even though Scott's losing a wife, and Logan's losing someone he loved, who didn't love him in return. Scott's losing someone he has known and been with for a long time, Logan has only just really met Jean. But that's perfect for how differently they react, as well as their personalities. Logan doesn't cry, Scott does. Logan doesn't let out all the emotion to spill over, Scott does. In the film Scott ends up sobbing against Logan, and I can just see the two of them together almost as a way of ressurecting her, more than remembering, less than actually being with her, just something very powerful and passionate, with no love in it, mostly just need.
So where the two sets of relationships have their similarities, Bobby and John are like soinlove. And Logan and Scott just need each other. Le sigh.
Off to go find lots of fic now, and if I don't find one that portrays all of what I just explained I'll cry.
Yeah, I was on MSN all night but didn't talk to anyone because I was in a bad mood. You'll thank me for it, if you even noticed me there.
edite;I'm cool I don't put ETA like everyone else I just realised this may be the only, or one of very few fandoms where I'm way more into the FPS than the RPS aspect of it. That rarely happens, I get all over the real people as opposed to the characters. Hmmm maybe it's because I've been into X-Men since I was even tinier than I am now. Just thought I'd point that one out randomly. Though since I can't write fictional characters because I won't be able to get it right, I can't ever write in the fandom which plain SUCKS!
